Whether its an event for all the family you’re after, or perhaps a spooky Halloween special for just the grown ups, we’ve done the research so you don’t have to. Here’s our round up of some of the best autumnal offerings out there
Autumn Countryside Show
Aptly named the Autumn Countryside Show, the two day event is a celebration of all things traditional British countryside. Be taken back in time with everything from vintage tractors to a steam-threshing demonstration. We’ll be looking out for the Duck & Dog Show in particular. Launching this year, the 30 minute display promises a magic combination of both comedy and education.
Hosted at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, the show is set to take place on the 8th – 9th October 2016 and promises to be an event for all the family. Entry for Adults is £11.50 and for Children £6 (excluding Gift Aid).

Festival of Light at Longleat Safari & Adventure Park
The Festival of Light will round off Longleat’s celebratory 50th year in spectacular style. Transforming the world-famous grounds into a breathtaking winter wonderland by night, this is Longleat, but not as we know it. In what is Europe’s biggest display of Chinese lanterns, expect returning favourites, as well as beautiful new scenes including a Beatrix Potter theme.
Running from the 11th November 2016 – 2nd January 2017, the display will brighten up both the autumn and winter months. Book your tickets here

London Design Festival
Where to start? Coming this September (17th – 25th), The London Design Festival will feature hundreds of exhibits across the city. Proving that London isn’t just the capital city, but the capital of design too, you’re sure to find something you love at one of the many ‘design districts’. Standing out from the crowd, we love ‘The Smile’ created by architect Alison Brooks. Shown at Chelsea College of Arts, this motionless piece is free to visit and even allows visitors to step inside its hollow wooden walls.

A Ghostly Evening at Hoghton Tower
No autumn roundup would be complete without a Halloween feature. Keep your eyes peeled and your wits about you on a ghostly evening tour of Hoghton Tower – one of the most haunted buildings in the UK, or so it is said. Silent torchbearers will take you on an eerie tour through the darkened halls of the Tower and if you dare, you are invited to explore the underground passages of the Tower where footsteps from another time may well echo alongside your own. Other spooky highlights include a painting where mysterious faces are said to reveal themselves… Finally, you will enjoy a well-earned meal – in more serene surroundings admittedly – giving you the chance to reflect on your experiences at the Tower.
Tickets for this event cost £28.50 plus a booking fee
