Hamish Mackie: Life in Bronze 2016

House Sculptures

The award-winning wildlife sculptor, Hamish Mackie, will be hosting a superb exhibition celebrating Mackie’s achievements to date with over 50 of his own sculptures coming together

Mackie has been sculpting since 1996 and has works in public and private collections worldwide. His sculptures are cast using the lost wax method in bronze and silver. To coincide with the exhibition’s two week run and within sight of Horse Guard’s Parade, Mackie’s monumental, larger than life Andalusian Stallion will be installed outside the British Council Headquarters on the Mall. The exhibition will be a celebration of Hamish Mackie’s ability in sculpturing the unique character of his subjects through the work he produces. Born out of Mackie’s extensive field trips to Australia, India and Africa and his continued study of the United Kingdom’s wild and domestic animals. This triennial exhibition celebrates Mackie’s ability to translate the unique character of his animal subjects.

Since his last solo exhibition in 2013, Mackie has unveiled his Goodman’s Field Horses, a monumental public commission for the Berkley Group. This dynamic set of six life-and-a-quarter scale bronze horses established Mackie as the most original and exciting wildlife sculptor of his generation.

The exhibition will be running from October 10th – 22nd at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1 and the sculptures will be for sale from receipt of catalogue. For more information, please visit the new Hamish Mackie website.
