From exquisite glass vessels to antiqued glass panels, these are the best in British luxury interiors this summer
After studying ceramics until 2003, James Lethbridge was lured to study glass and it turned into a life-changing moment when the medium became his material of choice. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art, Lethbridge has gained a reputation for his unique pieces, bespoke chandeliers and highly collectible glass vessels. ‘Empoli’ Jar with Thistle, £2,150. vesselgallery.com

A hand-painted mural or screen has to be one of the most exquisite bespoke features of an interior and is much beloved by the likes of Kate Moss and Alice Temperley, who are both fans of Frederick Wimsett’s work. Inspired by the elements of nature, each piece is tailored to the space and light of the room. Chinoiserie screens from £4,500; murals from £6,000.

The grandest dame of wallpaper design is still producing bespoke papers at the age of 85. Marthe Armistage’s designs are individually hand printed to order in a single colour or in 2-3 colour prints. They can also be printed on gold non-woven ground for an extra glamorous effect. Each 9.7m roll (approx) from £205 for single colour, extra for multi-colour or gold background. hamiltonweston.com

Part wall light, part art, the handmade Graciela could also make a table-top sculpture. Hand-made by Hannah Woodhouse in plaster. From £1,250 handmade so allow six weeks for delivery. artwalllights.com

A wonderful way to create a sense of light and atmosphere is with the introduction of a feature wall of antiqued glass panels by Rupert Bevan. Each wall is bespoke and can come in different ‘level’s of patination. This one, made for a private London client, is ‘medium’ and has foxing to the edges of the panels with decorative stud intersections. By commission antiqued mirror glass from £660 per square metre.

Good design must be functional which is why the Driftwood hollow surfboards are something to show off. They pay homage to wooden wave craft of yesteryear but are light years ahead in terms of structure, design and beauty. And sustainability is at the heart of it so each surfboard is made from sustainable or recycled wood which makes them both beautiful and resourceful. Good enough to hang on the wall. Hand-made in Cornwall. Price on request.
