Oh Scotland, please don’t go.
We’ve thought long and hard about why Scotland might want to leave us, and the only logical reason we can come up with is that they don’t like the food in Great Britain!
With all the fun foodie traditions like Haggis and deep-fried Mars Bars, you think we’re bland, don’t you Scotland?
Well, in a last-minute effort to persuade Scotland not to leave us, we have created something crazily wonderful. As crazy as thinking submerging a chocolate bar in hot oil will improve it, and as crazy as thinking that the vital organs of sheep mixed with porridge oats make for a tasty dish.
Voila! Blueberry and blue cheese pancakes.
It’s not that easy to find blue foods you know, Scotland, so I hope you appreciate us pulling together these two favourites (even though they come from warring families on the savoury-sweet spectrum) AND finding a way for them to beautifully marry into one pancake. Kind of like the marriage of Scotland and the other countries in Great Britain, one could say. (That’s subliminal messaging for ‘Oh please Scotland don’t leave us!’)
